Leeds United fans have been sent into a heated debate following Phil Hay’s latest piece surrounding goalkeeper Kiko Casilla and his suspension for racial abuse.
The 33-year-old has been banned for eight games, one of which he has already served while the Football Association published the official wording on the matter on Tuesday, which can be read in full here.
Hay has since penned an article for The Athletic where he outlines further insight into the matter and it has caused some fans to demand that the shot-stopper is sacked from the club whilst others have blasted the FA for having double standards.
There are only ten fixtures remaining in the Championship calendar and the Spaniard will not be involved for 70% of those matches meaning his place at Elland Road long-term is by no means secure.
Here’s the word from supporters…
The decision was labelled everything from “rubbish” to “damning” while one supporter claimed it was “embarrassing” as there was a considerable lack of punishment to Bulgarian supporters after they racially abused England players last year.

Another suggested that Casilla was a “decent guy” who made a big mistake, believing he’s worthy of another chance to stake a claim at Leeds.
Although, many weren’t of that opinion, stating that the club should look to part ways with him following this official verdict.
One supporter said he would be sacked from his job if he said the same things as the goalkeeper, therefore, those at the club need to “sack him”.
While others claimed they had no time for him and that his defence was particularly weak so the book needs to be thrown at Casilla.
Illan Meslier deputised in his absence on Saturday afternoon as Marcelo Bielsa’s side thrashed Hull City 4-0, so if he keeps picking up clean sheets, there’s no guarantee that the former Real Madrid man will ever play for the Yorkshiremen again.
Some picked up on other incidents where the FA have got involved, including the controversy surrounding Crystal Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey and his alleged nazi salute, which was posted to Instagram by German teammate Max Meyer.
A further member of the Elland Road faithful blasted the news, claiming that it as a weird world in football where a player can get a six-week ban for gambling while a player found guilty of racism only gets an eight-game suspension.
